Poldrate Arts & Crafts Centre is located in the historic Poldrate Granary and Mill in Haddington. We are a registered Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation (SCIO – SC048524) whose purpose is to promote and encourage the study, practice and knowledge of the visual arts and crafts in East Lothian. A copy of the Constitution can be found HERE
Classes are offered which accommodate a range of abilities and experience and are organised into 3 terms of 10 weeks each.
There are also “self – help” groups that are available for you to join. These groups are for members to come together to enjoy doing their chosen craft with like minded people. There is no tutor so there is no teaching. You are welcome to come along and work on your own within this group. There will be a volunteer to oversee any registration details required.
Everyone is welcome to join – it’s a great place to meet other people interested in arts and crafts and spend some time improving your skills or just enjoying time doing something different.
PACC is run by a Management Committee who are all volunteers and the Lamp of Lothian Trust generously allows us use of the Poldrate Granary and Mill.
The Granary has studios on 3 floors – the ground floor is mostly a wood working and kiln glass studio, the first floor is for crafts which include Clay Portraiture, Embroidery and Printing techniques and the third floor is mainly a painting studio, though use of the space is flexible. All floors are wheelchair accessible and there is a disabled toilet.
The Poldrate Mill has facilities for pottery on the ground floor and for textile crafts (spinning & weaving ) on the first floor and Upholstery and Basket making on the 2nd floor. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible, unfortunately the first and second floors are not.
